Hello teachers ,, I read the following essay about how to learn English.. and the essay put 7 rules to follow to learn,speak,use English corrctly and not to memorize and forget!!!
We are as teachers should know these rules and use them as a technique of our teaching to get best result with our students
The 7 rules are:
First/Learn Phrases:
That's mean when we teach new words ,we should after clarifing the meaning of the new word by any means(by picture or real object or short seen....) ask student to repeat the new word in a sentense -not separated-and ask Ss to put the new word in a sentence Finally give your students the correct technique to memorize the new words: put the new words in simple sentences and memorise these sentences or phrases
Second/Avoid Grammar Rules
That does't mean dont explain grammar But means dont waste time in long explanation in grammar..but let them aquire the grammar rule from a movie or story , give them sentences about the rule , extract the rule from Ss ,put examples on board as a guide and ask them to give you sentences.Finally give your students the correct technique to study grammar, they should read the short story or dialouge which include the grammar lesson several time and try to rewrite it by her own words with different finish but using the same grammar to encourage her imagination and practice the grammar at the same time..
Third/Focus on Listening
and try to bring real listening materials for Ss
Fourth/Learn Deeply, Repeat Often
Give you students this important technique of learning ,when we have a story or a dialouge read it several times in few minutes,e.g.read the story after each praying for ten minutes and once more before sleeping
Fifth/Use Point of View Stories
Sixth/Use only Real English Materials
Seventh/Use Listen & Answer
Finally summarize these seven rules and give them to your students..also tell them that:
These rules will help you speak English easily, and fast. They are the key to speaking success.
When you use the 7 Rules everyday, you will succeed
